Thanks to all of the schools that have already registered for HOBY 2010. For those who haven't registered - there's still time!. Registration numbers are up from previous years, so make sure your school does not miss out! All students registered by Friday, December 4 are guaranteed a spot at HOBY. Registrations made after that date will be accepted as space permits.
A few HOBY reminders:
• HOBY 2010 will be Friday morning to Sunday afternoon, May 14-16, at Central Michigan University, in Mount Pleasant, MI. We hope this earlier date will help avoid final exams, graduations, and major sports competitions that have prevented students from attending in the past.
• This year we're allowing each school to send up to two students to HOBY. When you register online, you may register one primary and one additional student, plus one alternate student. The registration fee is $150 for the primary student and $325 for the additional student. If you have questions regarding the pricing policy, please contact Aaron Vince.

Tura Foster
HOBY Position: Leadership Seminar Chairperson
Ambassador Year: 2000
Years with HOBY: 10
What has kept you involved for 10 years?: As an Ambassador in 2000, I felt that I finally found a group of people with whom I could be completely myself and be completely loved. I came back to volunteer my last two years of high school just to continue to have that feeling of support.
As an adult, I realize that it is no longer about me or my friends, but that we are here to support the ambassadors. Watching the following generations of HOBY ambassadors grow through the weekend and grow through the cycle that I did has been more fulfilling than my own original experience.

HOBY Position: Asst. Director of Recruitment
Ambassador Year: 2006
Years with HOBY: 4
What has HOBY done for you?: The opportunities that being a HOBY alumni and volunteer have opened up for me are numerous. From a summer internship with a state representative to a presidential leadership scholarship to being the founder of two student organizations on Grand Valley State University's campus, the knowledge I've gained through the Hugh O'Brian Youth foundation have developed my skills to be a leader socially, collegiately, and academically.
